We are branded by the cross, adopted into the family of Jesus Christ, we belong to Him and are forever changed. The branding process is painful, as are the God given refining fires of life. But birthed out of this is knowing that the one we belong to will provide for all our needs, just like the rancher will provide for all of the needs of his herd. Because of this we get to experience a peace that transcends all understanding.
